Jet's Favorite Freesources: TeamUp

Been a long time since we were able to talk about a Freesource, so maybe a definition isn’t a bad idea. A Freesource is, in our words, an ultra-cheap or free tool, platform, service, or software that pet store owners can use to improve their businesses.

Here at Pet Engine Marketing, we’re all about getting you the best ROI possible. The best ROI is a big reward, small investment. A free service is about as small an investment can get, so TeamUp really hits the mark.

We’ve been using TeamUp for a little over a year now and it’s absolutely worth digging into yourself. Feel free to check out our other Freesources HERE - there are over a dozen now! And if you haven’t subscribed to our email marketing to get this juicy content delivered to your inbox every month for pet store marketing help, you’re missing out on another great Freesource!

Jet’s Favorite Freesources:
TeamUp

TeamUp is an extremely robust and user-friendly calendar tool that’s designed for teams, groups, and businesses. It could be used by pet store owners to organize and manage their team’s hours, their marketing calendar, their events and meeting calendar, and everybody’s personal calendars as well.

One of the simplest parts about using TeamUp is that you don’t even need a user login or an account to access a calendar. A link, provided to your team, will allow them to see everything that you give them access to.

Using TeamUp

1. Organize with colors: Use color-coded sub-calendars to organize people, places, or events.  A sub-calendar can be assigned to a team member, a resource, a project, a process… anything! Assign one event to multiple calendars with ease.

2. Schedule and view: With Teamup, you can add or edit events in many ways – plan recurring events, drag-and-drop as changes occur, switch to any of the nine views, prevent double-booking, set up email notifications, and integrate into other applications!  All updates are instantly available to all users across all devices, any time, anywhere.

3. Share easily: Sharing a Teamup Calendar is as simple as a unique and secure web URL.  Each individual URL allows for specific accesses set by the administrator with granular access permissions to each of the sub-calendars. A calendar link can either be shared with one user, or a group of people who have the same access needs.  There are 9 levels of permissions ranging from read-only, add-only, modify-from-same-link to those that limit access to certain sub-calendars.

4. Manage access: A user is identified by the name of the link used to access the calendar.  Changes are tracked in the edit history or via change notifications. Depending on the role of the user or the needs of the business, each user or user group can be granted customized access.  The links are managed by the calendar administrator who can manage the calendar links easily and create as many links as needed for any number of users.

Pricing

This is like an extra treat on top of a great bowl of food, but TeamUp’s free plan is barely any different than its paid plans. Our opinion is that the two biggest drawbacks of using the free plan vs. a paid plan are:

  • No daily agenda being automatically delivered to your inbox

  • Inability to upload files to the calendar

All in all, these shouldn’t be issues that hamstring your pet store’s marketing or organization.

Conclusion

We really recommend giving TeamUp a shot. Spend a few minutes poking around, consider what a centralized calendar could do for your hourly scheduling, your marketing calendar, or your pet store’s event calendar. You’ll probably be amazed at how easy it is to use.
